Abdullah Al Kazaz is an award-winning architectural designer based in London, working across built practice, teaching, and research. He holds a RIBA Part II and a Masters of Architecture from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, where his graduation work was awarded High Pass with commendation.
His current practice at HETA Architects spans hospitality, mixed-use, residential, data centre, and masterplanning schemes across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, working from initial concept through early technical stages. Recent work includes a Middle Eastern wellness and sports development that he leads day-to-day, alongside contributions to a range of pitch and feasibility packages. He has built AI-assisted render and video workflows used across the studio.
In parallel, Abdullah teaches architecture privately, having delivered 200+ hours of 1:1 tutoring to RIBA Part I and Part II students on portfolio development, design narratives, and design decision-making. His research interests centre on the relationship between natural systems and the built environment, with published proposals on coastal urban resilience and regenerative land management in Iraq's marshlands. His MArch thesis, which embeds natural assets into property investment frameworks, was inspired by Rem Koolhaas's The Gulf and continues to shape his current thinking.
Of Iraqi and Jordanian heritage, Abdullah is bilingual in English and Arabic, with cultural fluency across Middle Eastern markets and a portfolio that moves freely between contexts.
Working across RIBA Stages 0 to 2 on hospitality, mixed-use, residential, data centre, and masterplanning schemes spanning the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. Work covers design development, drawing production, area schedules and floor efficiency analysis, and client-facing visuals across concept and feasibility packages. Contributes architectural input into investment-stage modelling on larger schemes, and supports the studio's pitch deck production and external communications. Built AI-assisted render and video workflows now used across the studio, cutting visualisation production time by around 70 percent and supporting over a dozen marketing and pitch films to date. Recent project exposure includes a Middle Eastern wellness and sports development carried through concept and feasibility stages.

Part-time placement across two private healthcare projects, a Neurological Rehabilitation Facility in South London taken through all RIBA stages and a Genomics hospital in Egypt at concept stage, alongside a competition in Bahrain. Prepared GA drawing sets in AutoCAD, coordinated with specialist consultants, supported planning submissions, and conducted site visits.
